INVESTIGATION
At the time, I was living in a townhouse in Knoxville, TN that had a back patio with a retaining wall abutting adjacent apartments and parking visible above. Since I was renting, the constraints were:
1. Provide privacy from the apartments up the slope
2. Minimize costs with readily available materials that would last a few years
3. Use a construction method that was very easy to assemble/disassemble while being structurally sound
Furthermore, I wanted to test whether or not I could use the wall as a viable means to grow vegetables in cheap self-watering pots as a mini-lab for determining viability on future projects.
